Devnaka Abhisith Nadeepa Dharmasiri was born on 28 September 2002. His parents are Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Director, Postgraduate Institute of Management and Dr. (Mrs) Ruklanthi Hettiarachchi, Medical Officer, Lady Ridgeway Hospital. He has one elder sister (19 years), Navodi Dharmasiri.
Nadeepa studied at Maris Stella College, Negombo till Grade 4. He joined Royal College, Colombo in September 2011. He was a Primary Prefect and a Junior Prefect at Royal. He displayed his wide array of talents as a Sinhala / English Debater, Member of First Aid Society and Member of Astronomical Society.
He won many accolades including the all island first place in the essay competition of the World Postal day 2013. He was loved by all and his cheerful approach to life was an exemplary one.
He was a chorister of the school choir and enjoyed a lot singing very specially at the Royal Carol Service which was held annually. Nadeepa was privileged and blessed to welcome the Holy Father Pope Francis at the Bandaranayake International Airport, when he visited Sri Lanka in 2015 singing the welcome song as a chorister of the Choir “Inspiration”.
He wanted to be a scientist and a priest. God wanted to make him a saint.
